This page explains what cookies and similar technologies Vayu Games uses, why, and how you can control them. We group cookies by the purpose they serve. You can accept or decline each non-essential category via the cookie banner the first time you visit, and change your choices at any time.
1. Strictly necessary
These are required for the site to function and cannot be disabled. They are set only in response to your actions (like saving a preference). They do not track you across other sites.
- UI preferences (local storage) — remembers collapsed menus and theme choices. Retention: until you clear browser data.
- Consent state (cookie or local storage) — stores your answer to the cookie banner so we do not ask on every page. Retention: up to 12 months.
- Security — standard tokens set by our hosting provider for fraud and abuse prevention. Retention: session.
2. Functional
These remember choices you make to improve your experience. Declining them does not break the site but you lose personalisation.
- Favourites (local storage) — the list of games you have hearted. Retention: until you clear browser data.
- Game progress (local storage) — high scores, best times, and level progress per game. Retention: until you clear browser data.
3. Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4to understand which games and pages are used, so we can improve them. Analytics is configured with IP anonymisation and with advertising / remarketing features disabled. Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them via the banner; before that, GA4 runs in Google's cookieless Consent Mode and sends only anonymous, aggregated pings.
- _ga — distinguishes unique visitors. First-party cookie set by Google Analytics. Retention: 2 years.
- _ga_<stream-id> — persists session state for the GA4 data stream. First-party cookie. Retention: 2 years.
- Aggregate page views and session length — counted with IP anonymisation. Google retention: up to 14 months, the shortest period GA4 allows.
4. Advertising
Vayu Games is free because of advertising. We work with Google AdSense and, for in-game placements, Google H5 Games Ads. These partners may set cookies for frequency capping, fraud prevention, and — if you consent — personalised advertising.
- Google advertising cookies — set by Google and its certified partners. Used to measure ad performance, control frequency, and (with consent) show ads tailored to your interests. Retention: varies by cookie; most up to 24 months.
- Non-personalised ads (NPA) fallback — if you decline personalised advertising, we signal NPA to Google so ads are based only on the content of the page and coarse location, not your profile.

How to give, withdraw, or change consent
- Via the cookie banner — on your first visit and any time you reopen the banner from the footer link.
- Via your browser settings — every major browser lets you block or delete cookies from its settings menu. Blocking all cookies may break parts of the site.
- Via industry opt-out pages — youradchoices.com (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU).

Do Not Track
There is no common industry standard for responding to Do Not Track browser signals, so we do not respond to DNT specifically. We do respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out of sale/sharing where applicable.

When we add or remove cookies, we update this page and refresh the "Last updated" date above. For significant changes we will also prompt you to review your consent.
